WE WALK ON ICE...

I was well-flattered when Ida from We Walk On Ice decided to wear our Bowtie for this shoot. This Swedish rock chic is stylish beyond belief, with the best second-hand waredrobe in town. 'WWOI' is a dark and cinematic sounding London based two-piece band who's just released its superb debut single. Cuando Ida de We Walk On Ice se puso nuestra Pajarita para esta sesión de fotos no pude evitar saltar de la emoción. Esta roquera de Suecia erradia estilo por los cuatro costados, contando con el mejor armario de ropa vintage de toda la ciudad. "WWOI" es un grupo de sonido oscuro y muy cinemático afincado en Londres, que acaba de debutar con un soberbio primer sencillo. Escucha su música aquí, y no olvides ver su video Candlelit Lake, filmado por ‘Little’ Jon Cowen; es realmente precioso.

Son muchas menos las complicaciones. Como me hubiera encantado estar presente en estas sesiones fotográficas! Este fue mi estiloso abuelo...

OLD AND BEAUTIFUL... / VIEJO Y BONITO...

Been looking at my family album recetly, with hope of finding some interesting genealogy; some aristocracy, a successful entrepreneurial record, a sweeping-out-of-my-feet romantic story, any worldwide relatives in the family tree... Nope, nothing that reached these high expectations. Did find, however, some robust ladies in there that weren't pretty, but had plenty of style and looked happy with themselves. Some very dear to me, some far related that I never knew they existed, I instantly fell in love with all of them, their stories and the sepia toning, creases and scribbles of these pictures: /

He estado mirando el álbum familiar recientemente. Albergaba la esperanza de una interesante genealogía con aristocracia, una entrada de éxito empresarial, una historia de amor apasionante, algún familiar recóndito por el mundo en mi árbol genealógico… Pero nada se acercó a mis expectativas. Encontré sin embargo a mujeres recias, que sin ser bonitas, tenían mucho estilo y posaban felices con su aparencia. Algunas muy cercanas a mí, algunas que hasta ahora no sabia existían, me enamoré al instante de todas ellas, de sus historias y del tono sepia, las arrugas y los garabatos de estas fotos:
